Magic Moments:27/04/14

Well its Monday again and gosh the week just flies past. I am as always doing one of my favourite link ups with Magic Moments.
This week I thought I would share a little old school magic moments and embarrass myself  on the way lol. This is a picture of me taken in 1969 at my brothers wedding. I was the little one in the front I should add. I was 10 going on 11 and I was loving getting dressed up.
My mum made the dresses which were a lovely pale lemon, with a white over poker dot on the top. I had my hair up and lots of tiny flowers pushed into my hair. What you cant see by this picture, was that it was in January. It was very cold and very foggy and most of the pictures look like night time. Later we had a a great party next door in the church hall lol. No fancy venues in those days!
Many years later I myself was married ( 1979 ) in the same church, and my husbands parents were also married there. I think Pat was a beautiful bride and my mum made her dress as well!

The church holds lots of memories for me and It is nice that we could share all our wedding days from one place.
Have a lovely magic moment day x

Birdseye View

Today I had an e mail telling me all about a photo challenge by Birdseye food products. They want family's to take pictures, and stand a chance of being included in a project they are organising . My family has grown up so getting together for a meal is special. This picture was taken on my birthday, and it makes me smile.
My son Matthew was trying to get a great picture of us all. He set up the remote control on the camera, and made us sit still and smile. We all thought it would be funny to not tell him and all pull funny faces. He had no idea and thought he was taking a lovely picture. I think it came out great and shows we can still have fun.
So jump over to   http://birdseyeview.birdseye.co.uk and enter your family today.

From Now Until Eternity

Its my favorite link up day! I have lost my blog mojo but I had to drag myself to post as I  love this link up.
As you can see my title is From Now Until Enternity and I guess it is about love.
Back in the dim distant past of 1978 I was looking at my local newspaper. I came across a story about a young sailor in the Royal Navy. He was asking for penpals to write to him to keep him up to date with his home town. I had always had penpals and really loved to write letters. I thought his life sounded exciting and fun, and a million light years away from mine.
So putting pen to paper I wrote my letter. I had to wait but in time a return letter dropped onto the mat. He told me he was 21 and at that time in America on H.M.S Ark Royal. He said he would love to write and that letter was the first of nearly a year of letters.
At the end of the year he came home and asked if he could meet me to say thanks for all the letters. I was very nervous as I had never been on a date and never had a boyfriend.

We got on straight away and within four weeks we were engaged and within 6 months we were married. We had to overcome a great deal as most thought we were far to young (21) and had not known each other long enough. We knew we were right for each other and vowed to stick to each other whatever.

Us on our wedding day 7/7/1979

That was a long time ago! In fact this year it will be 35 years and I have no idea where time went. Its not easy to live with one person that long, and there are times when I could kill him lol. He has been a wonderful husband and has always provided for us and our children. We have had a good life and have two wonderful kids as well. I hope we will have many many more anniversaries to come.

Pause .........

You know I love my blog. It's introduced me to a wonderful colourful world, that it would not have found. I have my niece over at The syders to thank for that. I have chatted via blogs to all kinds of people that I would have never normally had contact with.
Don't let anyone at whatever level, say blogging takes a lot of time. Coming up with interesting content isn't easy at times.
Some days the words just roll out and you can't type fast enough to keep up. On other days the blank screen looks huge, and you stare at the empty space with panic. The last couple of weeks I've had a lot of stress and to be honest I had nothing to say.
Rather than write for the sake of it , I thought I'd take a wee break.

I'm hoping the stress over one area has gone but it's left a rather bitter taste. When the dust has died down I will share with you all.
I still have some stress in another area but all is under control so I hope it will turn out ok.
So I'm still hear and I will try to pick up the pace over the next few weeks.
Hope you will stick with me

Baby Love

So I am a little late this week in joining in with the magic moments linky. Its been a busy and stressful couple of weeks so my blogging has been limited.
Better late than never is what I say lol
If you read my blog often ( I thank you if you do) you will know my oldest Matthew and his wife Karen are expecting my first grandson. We are over the moon at the prospect of being grandparents and can't wait to meet him in June.

I was lucky enough to go to a scan along with Karens mum, lynne. We got to see the baby and we also found out it was a little boy. Thankfully mum and son are doing very well and this week was very exciting !
We were all invited , along with the granddads to be, so a 3D scan.
I think it is amazing they can do that and I so wish it had been around when I had my children.
It was a nice place with lots of sofas to sit on and a big screen TV. The lady showed us loads of pictures and in some he was moving his hands, or opening his mouth it truly was wonderful.

After we got to buy things and Matthew and Karen got pictures on a CD to keep. I bought a keyring so I can show off my picture lol. They also had a fab teddy which they could put the babies heart beat into. Matthew and Karen got one of those, and I was surpised when my husband bought me one also.

It was such a magic moment that I could not wait to share with you all.
Love you grandson xxxx

Dead and Buried Review

I love the paranormal and I am always looking for a good story in the area. I have read other stories from the author Chris Dixon, so was keen to read this one.
Although the start was a little sexy , I fast found the great story and characters developing and getting better and better. I really enjoyed the plot and the only thing I have to say I so wish it was a full book.
The beauty of the short story I guess is you can read it quickly which is good for some.
So I cant say anymore as I don't want to give away the plot, but I would read it today. Its available on Amazon and I found it super easy to get it delivered to my kindle
