Blogging Slump

Blogging slump well that's what I am calling it. I have just not been " feeling " my blog recently. I have hit a wall and am finding it hard to write anything at all. I was all excited as my blog went up a fair way on a ranking system, and it made me feel so pleased. So I was really full of energy to go even further the next month. I posted nearly daily and sent comments to lots of blogs and blog hops. I was sooooo keen I worked hard all month. So when the next list arrived i was so disappointed to find I had dropped down. WHAT !!! it made me mad because I had worked so hard to improve .

So this month its made me lose faith a little and I have run out of things to talk about. Then I read an item all about this subject ( which I see now is common) and how you may help to get out of it.
The first thing was to re connect with why you blog.

My niece is an excellent blogger and when she first told me all about it , I have to be honest and I couldn't understand why someone would do it at all. She helped set my blog up and for a while I didn't touch it. Then my son designed my header and Jollyjillys was really alive. I am not sure why I really carried on..... I love to write and when I saw people were reading and responding it made me go on. I have " met" so many nice friend online and I just wish I could really see them in person. I have learnt a lot and at times its been a steep learning curve. I am sure I still make loads of mistakes and there are time when I look at the blog and think ?????

I am sure that I will find my blog love again and i think it means relaxing and not being stressed about not writing. If I drop in the rankings so be it. After all I didn't start to be ranked, I never thought anyone would even read it let alone rank it lol.

So blogging slump or no blogging slump i will continue for a while yet !

Fitbug Air Review

Fitbug Air is the product I am a very lucky girl to be trying out. If you read my blog you will know all about my attempts to lose weight, and my lack of mobility. It is a constant struggle and so I am always keen to try anything that could help.
Like most people I have tried pedometers but this is the big daddy of them all lol.

So lets begin with the facts

Fitbug Air is the first Bluetooth Smart Bug, letting you send and view your activity on your smartone or tablet. The battery should last from four to six months.
Stream or push your data seamlessly from your Bug via Bluetooth Smart. View your activity live on-screen. And much much more!

Can you imagine how smart this letter thing is to be able to track your steps and more. You can then download the information to your computer or mobile phone.
So when it arrived to be honest it took for around 20 mins to work it out, but the help site was helpful and there is such a lot of information on there to help.
You can even chat to other fitbug users and make friends , all must be a great way to keep on track.
I have had some issues with linking my bug to my lap top and phone, but fitbug have been very helpful and I am sure it will be up and running soon.
I have to say it has really made me so aware of my mobility and given my goals to try and get to. I maybe slow but I am so sure I can get there in the end.
Its early days but I think this little item is going to be worth its wait in gold.
My only negative ( and its tiny) its I wish it came with a neck strap or a clip as I found the wrist one difficult to carry around.
So I am going to try to post weekly and let you know how I get on. There is loads of information over at
so check it out.

Please note I was not paid for this review only recieving a sample of the product.

Malware Mess

Ok so I thought to myself last night , its about time I did a blog post. I had an idea of what I was going to chat about so went to load my blog and get started.  Instead of loading my blog I got a nice little picture and a message telling me my blog my have malware. Now I am not expert at this computer stuff! Yes I can e  mail, tweet use face book and so on. However when you get into areas like this I am lost,

It was too late to ring my wonderful computer genius son and say "HELP" so I had to shut things down until this morning.
I was worried that I had a virus on the computer and like most people you worry about how safe things are. Plus I have put nearly three years work in on this blog and it would be a shame to stop now.

So first thing this morning I rang my son and he got me links to sites that would check out my computer. So I sat while it did just that, and sat and sat and sat. 7 hours later it finally finished and guess what not threat at all??? I was so frustrated as I was at a loss as to what had happened.

I asked friends on facebook and a few things were put forward which I tried but no luck at all. I really got worried when a friend (Jacky xx) tried to get on the blog and got the same message. I was starting to panic as I had fears I would have to close the blog and start from the beginning. I really don't thing I would have done that as it would take so much work to build it all up again.

I tried loading the blog not using goggle and it worked but not through goggle. I found all the prompts and so called help pages next to useless.
Then my son said why not try taking off any advertisement's or links and see if that works. So I did and then asked my friend to check again, and yay it worked again.
I am still not clear why it happened but I am very pleased it did. The good thing is it has made me check my security and I know its often what we forget to do.

I hope no one else has had this issue but if you have I would love to hear from you

Church Weekend

This weekend was a fairly busy one for me. I only started attending my local church about 2 years ago. I really enjoy the peace of the church and the friendship of the people that go. Our church is very old and some parts are 11th century so its really hard to look after at times. Is very beautiful inside and I think some lovely stain glass windows.

On Saturday we had a fund raiser to try and help with the up keep all the building. So this weekend it was the Teddy bear parachute jump, You could pay a fee and then teddy went up in a bag to the top of the bell tower then jumped. It was great fun for the children as they laughed like mad when there teddy's floated down. I borrowed a teddy for the day and my brave teddy (who by the way was a rabbit but don't tell anyone) jumped twice.

Everyone had a good time and I have a few pictures to show just that

Then on Sunday we opened the church to the public, which is a new thing for the summer. I offered to church sit which I really enjoyed. It was nice a peaceful and I made my tea and sat and read my book. I had some really nice people who came to look at shared my limited history with them. I also took the time to take some pictures of the inside to show you.

I hope you enjoyed seeing some pictures of this fine old church as it is rather beautiful .

Two

Over at Sticky fingers the gallery this week is just "Two"! Ummm I thought that could be lots of things . In the end I went on a picture of some shoes made from icing. I made them for a christening cake I just finished last weekend. They looked really nice on top of the cake and I was very pleased with the finished look.

I really enjoy making my cakes and I get even more pleasure when people love them also.

First Picture Prompt of the month

First picture prompt of the month. Well we are into June and the year is slipping past so fast yet again. I have just had a really nice lunch with friends and we sat in the very warm sun shine and had a lovely meal. So I am feeling very chilled and thought it would be fun to try my random picture pick again. To be honest there is two pictures but I felt they went together.

Matthew with Nan Grace and Grandad Tom

Matthew with nan Rose and Grandad charlie

The first is a picture of my son Matthew when he was little. I think he was around 3 and also in the picture are my parents Grace and Tom. They used to live near the seaside and Matthew loved to visit with them as often as he could. It was pre his sister arriving so he would have them to himself. We had some really fun times with them which I think he will always remember. Sadly they have both died now. My mum at too far a young age of 63 over 20yrs ago and my dad at 74. I still miss them very much and wish I could still have one of my long conversations with my mum. I really hope I get to see them again one day.

The second picture is Matthew again at Christmas time with his other grandparents Rose and Charlie. They lived close and Matthew also liked to spend time with them. Grandad Charlie had a huge fish pond which Matthew loved  to feed the fish. Rose has sadly gone but Charlie is alive and doing very well. He does not look his age and thankfully is fully fit. I am he is still with us and so wish the others were as well.

When our parents are around we never really think to say " I Love You" or "Thanks" as it seems like they will always be with us. Then they are gone and you so wish you had said everything you ever thought you had time to do.
So say it today !
