Pet Bereavement

If like me you have lost a pet, then you will know how I feel.
We think we will have years with our pets, but time slips past so fast. I know I felt just the same. saying that in recent times I had started to worry that I may lose my darling cat.
Then three weeks ago the thing I had feared happen, and she slipped away and broke my heart.

Some people can be insensitive and not understand how the loss of a cat, can break your heart.
All I can say is they must have not had the luck to ever had the love a pet brings.
If I had not loved her so much, the pain would have been much less. I felt as if a human member of the family had passed away, and could not bring myself to really make effort to do anything.

So now I am trying to remember the good times. The cuddles and fun and 16 years of company she gave me. Unconditional love that only a pet brings to you.
I have felt guilt also..... Did I leave it too long? Did I do enough? Was there more I could have done for her? Every thought has crossed my mind. I think anyone who has lost a pet would identify with this.

Its not stupid to feel this, and people need to understand that you have lost your best friend.
The painful empty space she left , hurts.
I think its important to grieve and not too feel guilty if you can. Cry and don't hold back, let it out and don't shut off from the world.

So three weeks on it still hurts, but its getting better. I can say her name and think of her without crying, so that's got to be good. I don't think there is plan you can follow, as everyone is different so stick to how you feel.
I know there are lots of help lines and web sites, and that is good if you feel like you need to chat to someone who understands.

Yes I have lost my darling cefer cat but don't be sad for me. She was a darling cat my constant buddy for 16 years. She brought me love and happiness everyday she was alive and for that I thank her so much.
If you know someone who has lost a loved pet, then please understand and take time to ask them how they feel. Be kind and try to understand it will mean a great deal to them.
I found a lovely poem which I would love to share.

Weep not for me though I am gone into gentle night. Grieve if you will, but not long upon my soul's sweet flight. I am at peace, my soul's at rest. There is no need for tears. For with your love I was so blessed . For all those many years . There is no pain, I suffer not.

The fear now all is gone. Put now these things out of your thoughts. In your memory I live on.
Remember not my fight for breath. Remember not the strife. Please do not dwell upon my death, but celebrate my life.

Its all about me

Its all about me today! I thought it would be fun to share 10 facts about me, then I would love it if you would like to share some facts about yourself. So here we ......

1.  I always wanted to be a singer! I dreamed of singing on the stage, and I really wanted to sing country.
Only problem is my voice was not that great, and country music is not that big in the UK. Funny thing is my daughter is a singer now, and she has the voice I always wanted of . So I can live my dreams through her. I would have look good in fringe ........

2. Ive been on T.V a few times, only chat type shows , although I once did act in a t.v drama as an extra.

3. I pretend to be confident! I am in fact the most un confident person you have ever met but I am very good at acting it.

4. I married my penfriend!
My husband was in the services and we wrote for a year. We met up when he was on leave, a month later we were engaged and 6 months later married. This year is our 33rd anniversary

5. I passed my drivers test 26 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter.

6. I wish I had a big close family. I always wanted lots more brothers and sisters. I also miss my parents who passed away many years ago. It would be nice to share the love.

7. I wish I had been more adventurous in my life. I always took the safe options and this links back to my lack of self confidence. I hate change and prefer to be at home.

8. I wish I had made more of my career choices. I had lots of great chances but let them slip through my hands.

9. I love silly jokes. The more stupid the better they really make me laugh.

10. I am very glad that thanks to my niece Emma I started blogging. I may not be that great but what I write comes from the heart. I have got to chat with some wonderful people and I thank you all for taking the time to read and comment.

So there you are its all about me and now I hand it over and would love to learn all about you.

Childbirth at 65

Childbirth at 65

Too good not to pass on, Enjoy !!!

With all the new technology regarding fertility recently, a 65-year-old
friend of mine was able to give birth. When she was discharged from the hospital and went home, I went to visit..

'May I see the new baby?' I asked

'Not yet,' She said 'I'll make coffee and we can visit for a while first.'

Thirty minutes had passed, and I asked, 'May I see the new baby now?'

'No, not yet,' She said.

After another few minutes had elapsed,

I asked again, 'May I see the baby now?

'No, not yet,' replied my friend.

Growing very impatient, I asked, 'Well, when can I see the baby?'

'WHEN HE CRIES!' she told me.

'WHEN HE CRIES?' I demanded. 'Why do I have to wait until he CRIES?'

"BECAUSE I FORGOT WHERE I PUT HIM, O.K.?!!'

What's Your myers-Briggs Personality?

What's your Meyers-Briggs Personality? If like me you had never heard of this then read on. I found our information regarding this test from a friend, and thought it would be fun to look at it in more detail.

The test was developed in 1943 and over the years since it has been used to provide an insight to our personalities. The test should be carried out by a trained professional but there are many you can get from the internet just for fun.

I must say I had never given it much thought regarding my personality. After all at the age of nearly 54, I am me and little chance to change even if I wanted to. You get a list of questions or words with descriptions. You then have to decided which one you tend to fit into more than the other.

At the end you add up your letters and see which one you fit into , its as simple as that. The test does stress the fact that its neither wrong nor right but just an indication.

So off I went and answered my questions and added up my letters, and boy was I surprised at the result.
I came out as a ESFJ and it also added there were 16 possible preference combinations.
So mine was:-

Warm Hearted, talkative, popular, conscientious, born co operator, active committee member. Need harmony and may be good at creating it. Always doing something nice for someone. Works best with encouragement and praise. Main interest in things that directly and visibly affect peoples lives.

Wow it had me to a T in all ways (although not sure about the popular) and I was totally shocked by that.
I think that it was fun to do, but I would not want to change now, after all I am me !
It was easy to find on the internet so you should give it a go. Come back and tell me what type are you I would love to know.

I have been wearing mine now for a little while and I really love them.
They are warm and  comfortable and because they do not have seams, there is no
rubbing which is great. I have noticed my foot pain is better when I am wearing them which for me is great. I would say you need to buy more than one pair as you will want to wear them all the time. They come in black and white and for men and women so I think you should give them a try. Check out soleMate'zz

Happy Valentines day

Happy Valentines day!  I know many people say this day is just for shops to sell loads of stuff or cards, and it is too commercial . I think its a good excuse to tell someone you love them. I don't mean just your partner in love, it could be your children or even your pet!

I have been with my husband 33 years so romance is not high on his list. He used to be very romantic and Valentines day was always filled with flowers and love. I think over the years that has slipped which is a shame as every girl likes to have some romance. Strange that us women love to be told how special we are and showed with love and affection. Men on the other hand in general could not care less, or rather just do not think of it.

I do love my husband and I think after all that time, its a think that needs a pat on the back!
I hope its a Happy valentines day whoever you are with and you get some romance. If not then do what I am going to do...... make a huge cup of tea and relax.
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY xxx

ps my husband got me a lovely addition to my craft collection so thank you kevin and  I love you xx

RIP cfer cat

Just to update my last post. My darling cat passed away today. I am so uoset my heart is breaking

My pet is sick!

My pet is sick!  I had thought she may be unwell for a few weeks but also was thinking it was old age as she is 15. I love both my cats but cefer cat and I have a special bond. I spend a lot of time alone and she is such company and a comfort. If you don't have a pet you will be thinking I am mad but if you do you will understand.

She is always ready for a cuddle and always pleased to see me when I come home.
So today my husband took her to the vet and the news come, she needed a biopsy as she had a lump in her mouth. I did not take the news well, as I have already lost a cat to cancer. In fact I cried as she is so special to me.

So I am waiting..... the vet will ring at 3pm with any news . So please keep your fingers crossed for me and cefer and lets hope I can tell you good news later today.

Winter in the UK

Winter in the UK has been a little delayed this year. Last year we had masses of snow in November, so this year we tried to be prepared .  I am sure that those of you in countries where you have load and loads of heavy snow, will think we are rather silly! Every year Britain nearly folds under the wait of snow. Roads get shut, schools get shut and trains stop running, everyone goes into panic mode.

So Christmas came and went and no snow, and we were beginning to think that we would not get any this year. Then this week it got colder and colder and the treat of snow was being mentioned.
So on Saturday night the south East of England were I live, got the snow. For us it was heavy around 8-12 inches were I live. I do like snow its very pretty but when it turns to ice it is a nightmare.
So not more snow but still loads to melt, so I am staying in the warm. Hope were you are is warm and safe.

Family Memories

Family Memories is not what I was thinking of writing today! I was looking for my old lap top connectors which seems to have gone missing!!! So I was on the floor of my craft room, under the table climbing through all the "stuff" that I really need but never use!!! to find this item.

Then I came across a bag with all the old family photo's and got to looking and remembering times past.
I came across this picture of myself and my cousin Pat, taken in 1968 at her wedding.

I was 10 and the dresses were made by my mother. I am the baby of the group as my brother is 10 years older and my cousins a bit more than that. I loved to be with Pat as I really looked up to  her. She was so pretty and had beautiful clothes, I just loved to go shopping with her. We would buy really pretty clothes but she would say "don't tell Terry how much" that being her husband lol. She would curl my hair and paint my nails and I always felt really like a girl with her. I had a lovely childhood but It was lonely at times. I didn't have many friends early on and was bullied for most of my school life.
Time spent with Pat and later my dear sister in law also Pat, was an escape for me.

I was bridesmaid three times altogether with Pats first , then my brother early next year and then Pat's brother Brian last. I felt like a special princess with all the weddings and very very important.

We never see as much of our families as we would like, and time marches on so fast. It only take a second looking at pictures like this to bring it back
So I will finish by saying I never did find the wires I needed lol but I did find some old family memories to bring a smile to the day!
